The ride....

People ask me...."What kind of car do you drive?" The obvious answer is " You never heard of the car.....Cuz its so rare here in Malaysia....."

The car is called ROVER 216 1997 model

So here's a couple of pictures of the car taken from the UK. FYI this is a UK spec model.... mine's a little different.....with AUTO transmission, these pics however, shows the same model, but fitted with MANUAL transmission.....

^The front of the car....though mine's a lil bit uglier,
with dents all over the place
^The side profile.....with exactly same wheels
^The rear....the badge of this car says "200" but mine's says
"216 SLi" and the spoilers gone....
flew away somewhere

^ On my car, the fuel lid is gone, the petrol station guy broke it...
and there is a large scar on the rear bumper when I accidentally reversed onto another car

So the car that I drive USED to look like this....now its just ugly and rugged.....poor old car.....really luved it....easy to drive, good fuel economy, powerful engine, the only letdown is the sluggish CVT AUTO gearbox......spoils the fun in the drive.....huhu.

I was thinking

Just watched the last samurai.....and I was thinking..... If a man dies upholding what he believe, even though it's unacceptable to other people.....does that mean that he is stupid, crazy or just different????

Even I can't answer that........

Good memories.................

Well I was cleaning a huge box of notes that I had when I went through all of the notes from previous semesters. And it does bring a lot of good memories. I still had the notes from surveying in semester 1, Quantity Surveying in semester 2, Fluid Mechanics in semester 3, hydraulics and design in semester 4 and a couple of other notes. Each one bring back memories of the lecturers, the classes, the students.....all the stupid jokes and all the lecturers that had left us.......

I'm gonna miss all of them, this is the place where I learned to be an engineer......and I will always cherish that memory all my life.....If i could turn back time, I wished that I had taken my studies more seriously......hahahahahaha......me??? serious??? Study??? Who knows..... I might be a smart student after all if I had taken my studies more seriously........I would even be in line for an ANC.......Wishful thinking and maybe dreaming but "Dreams are the only thing that can make the impossible, possible!!" Without dreams.......than the world will not be a place like we know now......

The end of the semester...........

Finally its what we have all waited for. The End of the semester. Yahoo.....NOT!!

Summary....This semester sucks!!! A lot of work to do, countless sleepless nights and too much reports to submit....This is the worst semester in my entire life at UiTM. FYI the final exam is not something to cheer about too. Too many theoretical questions.....GOD!! I HATE THEORETICAL QUESTIONS!! So I just ignored them. Leave all the theoretical questions unanswered. So I'm not surprised or sad if my results is bad. Because the questions are not that easy......nor it is created with thoughts of easiness for the students.....To all that could answer the questions...congratulations.

At the end of the day, when we're working, its not the theory or principles that helps us solve the problems we face, but the application of the theories. So WTF do they even bother putting up theoretical questions anyway. They talked and talked about producing a syllabus that meets the industry's demand....SHIT!! The industry does not demand theory or principle, they demand good problem solving skills from application of theories and principles.

So I HOPE I WILL NOT GET "Dean's List" for this semester. Because I failed to answer all the "APPROPRIATE" theoretical questions. Hahahahahaha. I would not be proud of it anyway. I rather had a shitty results than answer all the theoretical questions. Just hoped that the pointer is not down by much......Cuz only GOD knows how "HELL ON EARTH" has this semester been for me. The final exams.....they just summed up a perfect semester.......in HELL!!

Home away from home.....

Well I always have a problem with traveling. Some how the places I've been to never had been 'Home' enough for me. Somehow I would always be home sick and wanting to go home the most. Before I was in Penang, I never went to a boarding school, so I never knew how it felt like being away. The only hostel I've ever lived in is only 45 minutes drive away from my home (on a clear road). So it never felt like a hostel to me, just a place to 'lepak' with friends and have a good time with no parents, no responsibilities.

But Penang is different. Although I hated the 4 hour travel by car every start and end of the semester, it always felt so welcoming. I really felt at home here. This is where my heart is. 3 years and this place had changed me. Here is the places that I have a lot of memories, some good some bad but definitely 'you yisi'. The lecturers, friends, not so friends and the general public everyone here has a big impact on me, and what I've come to be. Somehow all these things are so familiar to me that now, when its time to leave, I feel so sad. It's like leaving your home to go someplace uncertain.

3 years here and there is still interesting places to visit and things to do here in Penang. Since this is my last semester here, I'm gonna enjoy being here the most. Of course, everything here will be missed when I'm gone. Seeing the pace of things that changes around here, I just hope should I ever return here, at least somethings would remain the same. The greatest memories are when we are studying. And these are the memories that I wanna keep with me. As long as I live. Thank you to all the people that made my tenure here, the most memorable of all my entire traveling and studying life. I just hope when we all have finished studying and we all had our own path in life, we would still have each other. Just like old times!!!!

Compare these cars......

Well I want you guyz to compare these cars, look at it carefully, look at the similarities, then comment on the cars which one is better looking??
^Toyota Passo
^Daihatsu Sirion UK spec
^Subaru Justy UK spec^Perodua MYVi UK spec

For me, compared to the other cars using the same platform and body style, the MYVi wins hands down. There is a bit of quality issue yes, but in terms of styling, MYVi looks the most beautiful of the lot. The front side of the others just looks like they just hit a wall. So flat, hahaha. FYI, I don't own a MYVi, and doesn't want to own one because for me, there are a lot of other cars that are better then a MYVi, but in terms of style, you just can't deny it is beautiful!!! N e way, I think there are just too many MYVi's on Malaysian road. Starting to hate them!!!!

When you look me in the eyes lyrics

Jonas Brothers When You Look Me In The Eyes Lyrics

If the heart is always searching,
Can you ever find a home?
I've been looking for that someone,
I'll never make it on my own.
Dreams can't take the place of loving you,
There's gotta be a million reasons why it's true.

When you look me in the eyes,
And tell me that you love me.
Everything's alright,
When you're right here by my side.
When you look me in the eyes,
I catch a glimpse of heaven.
I find my paradise,
When you look me in the eyes.

How long will I be waiting,
To be with you again
I'm gonna tell you that I love you,
In the best way that I can.
I can't take a day without you here,
You're the light that makes my darkness disappear.

When you look me in the eyes,
And tell me that you love me.
Everything's alright,
When you're right here by my side.
When you look me in the eyes,
I catch a glimpse of heaven.
I find my paradise,
When you look me in the eyes.

Movin' on, I start to realize,
I can reach my tomorrow,
I can hold my head up high,
And it's all because you're by my side.

When you look me in the eyes,
And tell me that you love me.
Everything's alright,
When you're right here by my side.
When I hold you in my arms,
I know that it's forever,
I just gotta let you know,
That I won't let you go.

Cause when you look me in the eyes.

And tell me that you love me.
Everything's alright, (it's alright)
When you're right here by my side (by my side)
When you look me in the eyes, (because)
I catch a glimpse of heaven. (oh)
I find my paradise,
When you look me in the eyes.

Lucky lyrics

Jason Mraz Lucky Lyrics

Do you hear me,
Talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying

Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music fill the air
I'll put a flower in your hair

though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Lucky we're in love every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

Timeless lyrics

Timeless

Baby come close let me tell you this
In a whisper my heart says you know it too
Baby we both share a secret wish
And you're feeling my love reaching out to you

Timeless
Don’t let it end (no)
Now that you’re right here in my arms where you should stay
Hold tight baby
Timeless
Don’t let it fade out of sight
Just let the moments sweep us both away
Lifting us to where
We both agree
This is timeless love

I see it all baby in your eyes
When you look at me I know I feel it too (yes I do)
So let's sail away and be forever baby
Where the crystal ocean melts into the sky
We shouldn’t let the moment pass
Making me shiver let’s make it last
Why should we lose it don’t ever let me go

Timeless
Timeless
Don’t let it fade out of sight
Just let the moments sweep us both away
Lifting us to where
We both agree
This is timeless
This is timeless

Baby its timeless
Oh baby its timeless

Timeless
Don’t let it fade out of sight
Just let the moments sweep us both away
Lifting us to where
We both agree
This is timeless
This is timeless

Tak Bisakah lyrics

Tak Bisakah

Hatiku bimbang dengan tetap pikirkanmu
Selalu-s'lalu dalam hatiku
Kumelangkah sejauh apapun itu
Selalu kau didalam hatiku

Ku berjalan-berjalan memutar waktu
Berharap temukan sisa hatimu
Mengertilah ku ingin engkau begitu
Mengerti kau didalam hatiku

Tak Bisakah kau menungguku
Hingga nanti tetap menunggu
Tak Bisakah kau menuntunku
Menemani dalam hidupku

Ku berjalan-berjalan memutar waktu
Berharap temukan sisa hatimu
Mengertilah ku ingin engkau begitu
Mengerti kau didalam hatiku

Jangan Kau mencari hidupku
Kemana Kau tau isi hatiku
Tunggu sejenak aku disitu
Jalanku jalan menemukanmu

Tak Bisakah kau menungguku
Hingga nanti tetap menunggu
Tak Bisakah kau menuntunku
Menemani dalam hidupku

N e way grill sliding door rosak, plus beberapa bukti yang menujukkan dia masuk ikut garden kecik di luar. Yang pelik nya tuh, ada dengar bunyi orang buat bising, tapi x nampak orangnya???? Pukau??? Ape ilmu dia pakai pun ak x tau. Tapi satu ilmu lagi dia x cukup, ilmu bukak grill. Hahahahahahaha!!! Kalo x habis licin la barang dalam rumah. Lain kali dia kena blaja ilmu bukak grill dulu, baru la coba2 nak merompak!! Fuh, nasib baik dia bangang!!

^Sebahagian dari besi grill yang telah berjaya dipatahkan
^Besi tuh sepatutnya menghalang grill ini dari dibuka
^Pasu bunga pecah akibat dipijak
^Pokok ini menjadi mangsa kekejaman perompak
^Sliding door yang telah dipecahkan kuncinya.
Sliding door dilaporkan dijumpai dalam keadaan terbuka.

The 'Engineer'

Take the personality test, just to know what type of person you are. It helps you and the people around you, understand you better.

My result:

INTP - The "Engineer"

INTPs are logical, individualistic, reserved, and very curious individuals. They focus on ideas, theories and the explanation of how things work. They are especially adept at discussions and debate. They have the ability to focus intently on a subject. They appreciate and respect intelligence in others.

About the INTP
Expert Quotes & Links

"INTPs are relatively easy-going and amenable to most anything until their principles are violated, about which they may become outspoken and inflexible. They prefer to return, however, to a reserved albeit benign ambiance, not wishing to make spectacles of themselves."
- INTP Profile (TypeLogic)

"The INTP is above all a thinker and his inner (private) world is a place governed by a strong sense of logical structure. Every experience is to be rigorously analysed, the task of the INTP's mind is to fit each encountered idea or experience into a larger structure defined by logic."
- An INTP Profile (intp.org)

"INTPs live in the world of theoretical possibilities. They see everything in terms of how it could be improved, or what it could be turned into. They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations. They seek clarity in everything, and are therefore driven to build knowledge. They are the "absent-minded professors", who highly value intelligence and the ability to apply logic to theories to find solutions."
- Portrait of an INTP (The Personality Page)

"The Architects' distant goal is always to rearrange the environment somehow, to shape, to construct, to devise, whether it be buildings, institutions, enterprises, or theories. They look upon the world -- natural and civil -- as little more than raw material to be reshaped according to their design..."
- The Portrait of the Architect Rational (iNTp) (Keirsey)

"INTPs contribute a logical, system-building approach to their work. They like being the architect of a plan, because of the scheming and thinking involved, far more than being the implementer of that plan. Implementation tends to be drudgery. They are content to sit back and think about what might work, given their view of the situation. INTPs may ignore standard operating procedures. The hours that they spend are not what is important to them, but rather the completion of their thought process"
- INTP - The Wizard (Lifexplore)

"likes solitude, not revealing, unemotional, rule breaker, avoidant, familiar with the darkside, skeptical, acts without consulting others"
- Jung Type Descriptions (INTP) (similarminds.com)

Well almost all are true, except the 'unemotional' remarks........hahahahahahaha, me unemotional?? Try too emotional!! Well hopes it explains my 'strange behaviors'.

1. Maybe I just don't like people to challenge my 'principles' that's all, then I became 'outspoken' and 'inflexible'. <-- banyak orang yang dah kena ngan ak, huhu, Sorry guyz!!

2. Other than that, I'm quite 'easy-going' and 'amenable'.

3. I also 'likes solitude' <-- like watching movies alone??

4. Furthermore I'm like the mastermind, who make up schemes, but rarely implement them<--Lazy-bone!!

5. And I like taking my own sweet time <--Betul3!!

6. And I may ignore standard operating procedures (What ever that means) <-- Sounds dangerous!!

7. 'Rule breaker'?? <--Skema batak ade la!!

8. 'Familiar with the dark side' <-- "No Luke, I am your father" Pish-Posh!!

9. 'Skeptical'<-- Always!! If you don't show me the facts, then I dont believe you

10. 'Acts without consulting others' <-- Ya lar!! So true.

U really wanna know??

Why is it seem easier to hurt someone that we care about than someone that we hate?? Maybe because sometimes we forget that they actually care about us too....and we take for granted everything that they do for us. Maybe its because they are closer to us emotionally that every little thing that we do, effects them in more ways that we might think possible. Or maybe its just us to blind to see that we are hurting them on purpose.

This passing weeks had me thinking, why does it seem like everything I do, seem to bring more misery to the ones that I care about, rather than joy. I'm confused and scared. Scared that somehow, things are not gonna be the same again because I keep making the same mistakes again and again. Scared that I'm gonna lose the ones I cared about right under my noses, without me even realizing it.

Because people changes, we change, our friends change, and because of mistakes that we do, or mistakes that we are afraid to admit we do, we're gonna lose it all. Life is a journey that is taken one step at a time. I'm afraid that I'm not gonna be there with them as they take the next step. And when I realize, they have left me a long way back. Huhu

Confused......really really confused.......when I meant to do good to others, but end up making mistakes and hurting them. Especially the ones that I cared about. What am I supposed to do then?? Really really confused when what I did, just created misunderstandings and any attempt to repair it just created more misunderstandings. Its like the problem never ends. Once I solved one, another comes rolling down my way. But maybe that's life right?? 'The sweetest things are not so sweet if there is nothing bitter to compare to.'

Analogy......cakes

^Having a cherry on every slice is the best kind of cake that you can have

Well its like this.....I always had problem of explaining the importance of getting the Dean's List, so I sort of created this analogy.

Imagine that you have a cake, the cake is of your favorite flavor be it chocolate, coffee etcetera. The cake is then cover with a topping of your choice, such as whipped cream, chocolate, strawberry.....you name it. And on top of that....cherry(ies).

Now imagine graduating with a degree is like the cake, its good and yummy, but very basic. Then on top of that you have the toppings, or whatever you wanna call it, that represents the class of your degree, be it second class lower, second class upper, or first class. The higher the class, the tastier the topping. And lastly, the Dean List is like those cherries on top of the cake. It definitely makes the cake more appetizing and tasty.

Simple isn't it? The cake and the topping might be good, but with cherries......its like perfect. So the question is, how many cherries do you have or intent to have on top of your cake? For me one is good enough. but to have more, is always a good thing.

Decisions.............

Life is like driving on the highway, at some point you have to take an exit, to get to your destination. After the first turn, then another, then another......until you reach your destination. Ironically, on the highway, once you've take an exit, it is not possible to turn back. Once you've exited, that's it. the next entrance is maybe 5-10 kilometers away. And once you've taken the exit, you've lost all the path that lies on the highway beyond the exit.

Life is so much like driving on the highway, for those who might have read 'The road not taken', they might understand that once we've made a decision in our life, it is not possible to turn back, so there is no use in regretting. What done is done and can never be undone. Some times we just have to be brave. For us who makes the decisions, if the decisions are our own and not influenced by others, the consequences are our own too.

Sometimes we make decisions not because we like it, but because we have to. No matter how painful the decisions are, how others would react to the decisions, if we truly think that the decision that we make is what is best for all, we must make that decision. Just turn a deaf ear to what other people might say, because in the first place, they might not understand why we make that decision.

A father does not scold or punish his child when they make mistakes because he hates them, but because he loves them. Because he cares for them. And the father wants the child to take the punishment as a lesson, to get the child through life. No matter what the child thinks about the father, one thing that can never be denied is how much the father loves them. Only with time would the child understand, why the father acted like that.

I saw once in a movie that says 'people should not be judged by their mere looks or their history or ancestry, but by their decisions that they make'. Well for me not just the decisions, but also the consequences of the decisions. Because a decision that had been taken might not be a popular decisions, but a just decision, a decision needed for the time. With the REQUIRED result and to ensure that all parties are satisfied.

Alas I ask of thee, do not judge a decision by just the decision itself, maybe there are some deeper meaning and unseen positive side to the decision that have been made. The truth will show it self but only time will tell when.........

Fenerbache 2-5 Arsenal

Walcott scoring the 2nd goal

Arsenal FC ended Fenerbahçe SK's 15-match unbeaten home European run in stunning style after early strikes by Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott gave them an advantage they never relinquished.

Frantic start
The first two goals were of similar style as Adebayor and Walcott sprinted clear within a minute of each other, and a Mikaël Silvestre own goal did not stop Arsenal's momentum thanks to Abou Diaby's strike. That was all in the first 22 minutes, and despite some frantic Fenerbahçe efforts, Alexandre Song made it 4-1 early in the second half. Although Daniel Güiza pulled another back, 17-year-old Aaron Ramsey had the last word and Arsenal look in control of UEFA Champions League Group G.

Early chance
Fenerbahçe coach Luis Aragonés opted to start with Chilean midfielder Claudio Maldonado, omitting Turkey winger Kazım Kazım altogether, but while Uğur Boral forced Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia into a save on four minutes, it was the visitors who were making the running. Önder Turacı's last-minute injury meant Gökhan Gönül started at right-back after a foot injection, but Fenerbahçe's defence were stretched by the pace of Arsenal and were soon breached twice in quick succession by the guile of Cesc Fàbregas.

Quickfire goals
On ten minutes the Spain midfielder's through ball was timed perfectly for lone striker Adebayor to beat the offside trap and slot past Volkan Demirel. Seconds later the goalkeeper was picking the ball out of his net again. This time Fàbregas found Walcott, who sprinted clear of Edu and rounded the goalkeeper before tapping in.

Comeback thwarted
However, Fenerbahçe's fans were not about to give up and hopes of the sort of comeback that took them to last season's quarter-finals were raised eight minutes later when Alex's free-kick fell to Güiza, whose shot deflected in off Silvestre, making only his second start in an injury-hit Arsenal defence. The visitors did not lower their tempo, though, and three minutes later made it 3-1 with yet another quick break, the fit-again Diaby marking his first start of the season with a calm finish. Yet that might not have been all of the scoring before the break, Güiza and Semih Şentürk coming close on several occasions.

Song goal
Those misses were to prove costly as within four minutes of the restart it was 4-1. Selçuk Şahin's attempted clearance from a Fàbregas free-kick hit the head of Edu and the grateful Silvestre nodded the ball down for Song to claim his second Arsenal goal. Aragonés soon introduced Ali Bilgin on the right, although the visitors had shut up shop and Fenerbahçe were not finding chances as easy to come by as before the interval.

Late consolation
Güiza did end his personal frustration with 12 minutes left when he pounced on Song's looser header to elegantly chip Almunia although appropriately the last word belonged to Arsenal, substitute Ramsey, on his competition debut, striking low into the net from outside the box. Arsenal now lead Group G by two points from FC Dynamo Kyiv; Fenerbahçe are bottom with just one draw to their name and desperately need a result in London on 5 November.

Cute cars for cute people......

Fiat 500
15/20

'The next big thing for West London estate agents and small men called Paulo. Or Richard'

Our verdict

The Fiat 500 is the long-awaited and well-received revival of an Italian icon. What it lacks in terms of interior packaging it more than makes up with sheer style and driver involvement. What we’re all waiting for is the hot little Abarth version, due later this year.

Comfort

A nicely pliant ride actually makes the 500 surprisingly refined through the manholes and potholes of urban driving. The only drawback is an oddly high driving position that can make taller drivers feel precariously close to the roofline.

10 out of 20

Performance

As yet the best you're going to get is the same fizzy little number from the Panda 100HP. The 1.4-litre 16v still needs near 11 seconds to get you to 62mph though, and is so much more expensive than a basic model that it's scarcely worth it.

4 out of 20

Cool

At the moment the new 500 is rare and eye-catching. Whether this will endure is debatable. Expect this to be the new, new Mini. Ubiquitous, and frequently driven by highly slappable estate agents and smug media types.

18 out of 20

Quality

The bespoke and impressively retro-looking cabin in the 500 not only looks great, but also feels fairly expensive. Cheaper Fiats don't have a great reputation for reliability, but the 500 has yet to prove itself either way.

15 out of 20

Handling

Tall, narrow cars like this are bound to suffer from a little bit of pitch and roll, but the 500 still feels sure-footed and, vitally, entertaining when you're slinging it around a bit.

12 out of 20

Practicality

Improvement over the original 500 is not, 60 years on, anything to feel smug about. The 500 is still cramped in the back, a bit too lofty from the driver's seat and not blessed with the ease of access of its cheaper sister the Panda.

6 out of 20

Running costs

The 500 is annoyingly pricey, but desirability ought to keep its secondhand value up. Low insurance groups and great fuel returns mean it's not going to bleed you dry either.

If it comes to Malaysia, I'll definitely buy one....

Volkswagen up!

11 September 2007 - 09:00

Frankfurt show: VW on the Up!

If you needed any more convincing that small is cool at Frankfurt this year, this is it - Volkswagen's Up! city car concept.

When details were leaked a few weeks before the show, voices everywhere were claiming it was the 'real' new Beetle. And in every way that matters, it is.

Forget the contrived throwback styling and think genuine people's car - tiny, affordable and likeable transport that will appeal to the masses.

It's versatile, too. All the seats pop out (apart from the driver's) and feature inflatable cushions that mould to the shape of each the occupants.

The engine's in the back - the only tangible similarity to the old Beetle - but this time it's more about maximising practical space for the four potential occupants.

The word so far is that the Up! will make production in late 2009/early 2010 and will likely look pretty similar to the concept shown today.

Two versions of the Up! are planned: a basic, budget version that could go on sale for as little as £5,000 and one with a more luxury spec.

In Europe, power will come from a relative of the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder engine currently found in Polos and small Skodas.

VW is also set to develop a new two-cylinder engine, although we expect this will predominantly be for India, China and South America.

The Up! is shorter and narrower than the VW's current city contender, the Fox, which the car will likely replace when it arrives at the end of the decade.

MYVI on Top Gear

Perodua MYVI
10/20

‘A compelling argument for never learning to drive. Concerned fathers take note.’

Our verdict

Although they have made a far better fist of styling the PeroduaMyvi than they did with the ridiculous Kelisa and Kenari, it still feels staggeringly cheap and lacks any trace of desirability.

Comfort

The secondhand Toyota underpinnings don't provide a class-leading ride, but the real drawback for driver and passengers is the engine's complete lack of refinement at higher revs.

Performance

The one engine offered in the Myvi is an 86bhp 1.3-litre 4-cylinder lump. As disheartening as that sounds it's considerably better than Perodua's previous efforts. Although that's not saying much is it?

8 out of 20

Cool

The Myvi would be exceptionally cool if the only other cars on the planet were also made by Perodua. Which is a very dark and sinister vision in which we'd all be out of a job and probably heavily medicated.

8 out of 20

Quality

Like Peroduas past, the Myvi looks and feels dreadfully cheap due to the budget materials the company is forced to use, but to it credit everything does seem to be well glued together.

10 out of 20

Handling

The Myvi is based on the last generation Toyota Yaris, so it's actually fairly nimble and composed at speed. There's a decent amount of grip from the chassis and body roll is kept to a minimum.

9 out of 20

Practicality

That weird roofline gives the Myvi a significant leg up in this area. Lots of headroom in both front and rear, and with that the advantage of a decent amount of leg room too.

12 out of 20

Running costs

Discounting the inadvisable auto' gearbox option, the Myvi is both cheap to buy and cheap to run thanks to a low insurance grouping and impressive fuel economy. But a car with such an undesirable badge on the bonnet is going to do badly at resale.

Golf Gti from Top Gear

Volkswagen Golf GTI
16/20

'You’ll look at other hot hatches, but you’ll come back here every time'

Our verdict

The Volkswagen Golf GTI – the car that invented a genre – is back on top form. Recent power boost only adds to the appeal. Not the lairiest hot hatch, but the most capable.

Comfort

OK the suspension is firm - though never harsh - but the superb seats, well-arranged driving position and excellent refinement mean you never step out of a GTI feeling pummelled.

14 out of 20

Performance

The engine delivers like a big V8 - there's loads of torque from well down the rev range, and nothing you'd call lag but just a slight softness answering the accelerator pedal. The combination of turbo and direct-injection means superb manners. It revs happily too, and kicks out a muted but cheeky exhaust as it goes up to the redline. The extra 30bhp in the Pirelli edition cuts 0-62 time from 7.2 to 6.8 seconds.

10 out of 20

Cool

An effortlessly cool charmer, the GTI causes no-one any offence and lots of people to swoon.

16 out of 20

Quality

The Golf cabin is nicely made but businesslike, having little of the jewellery of an Audi. Maybe that simplicity suits the GTI's purpose, but we wouldn't mind a few more soft-touch surfaces. The Golf bodyshell feels super-solid and reassuring as ever, and well up to the turbo's pummelling.

14 out of 20

Handling

It's lithe and fluent, with heaps of front-end grip, loads of warning that the purchase is running out, and an easy nature when it does. The steering is accurate and ever-helpful, too. The joy of a GTI is that you can push it because you know it's always on your side.

15 out of 20

Practicality

Hot hatches are already practical, but the Golf beats most of them, thanks to the big boot and the way it can go from lairy to restful as you change driving style. The DSG box makes town driving a breeze too.

15 out of 20

Running costs

Fairly low depreciation is the GTI's trump, but of course insurance and fuel costs will give you a predicable beating.

The new MINI from Top Gear

Mini
15/20

‘Big on the outside, small on the inside. Did the Germans read the brief upside down?’

Our verdict

A successful, if aesthetically subtle, evolution of the worldwide phenomenon, supporting the notion that it if ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The Mini still looks and feels high end, drives superbly and remains attainable.

Comfort

The Mini is now far more comfortable, something that will make a huge difference to people who use them for long journeys and over bumpy B-roads. It really is a class act now.

12 out of 20

Performance

The smaller petrol engines still feel a little gutless in a car that is heavier than its size would lead you to believe, but the presence of a diesel in the line up means you can cruise economically at long last.

13 out of 20

Cool

The Mini has got a bad rep in certain parts of the country where estate agents use them as advertising hoardings, but in isolation the Mini is too good and too much fun to be anything other than cool.

14 out of 20

Quality

Another area of improvement over the previous generation car, the new New Mini feels substantially more sturdy inside and uses less brittle plastic around the dash and doors.

13 out of 20

Handling

The Mini's real forte hasn't been diluted in this slightly softer new version. Although a fraction less sprightly, the overall set up is even more accomplished, meaning you can push it even harder with relative impunity.

16 out of 20

Practicality

The Mini's Achilles' Heel remains its severe lack of space. There's next to no room in the rear for anything other than a toddler or two and the boot is so small you'll struggle to get even a weekend's worth of luggage in there.

6 out of 20

Running costs

Go with the diesel and the Mini makes sense. Excellent mpg, low C02 emissions for your company car tax and the guarantee of strong residuals mean the Mini One D makes serious sense.

Ulu Paip Site Visit.....

On the 20th of September 2k8, we went to Sungai Ulu Paip ( literally meaning: The beginning/the Source of the pipe river)……. Hahahaha….. couldn’t it be more obvious………. So the purpose was to practice what we learn in KJC513, about bedload sampling, velocity of river and so on and so forth…..

Truthfully the visit should’ve been done on the 30th of August but because of logistics problems, well it was postponed to the aforementioned date. We were SUPPOSED to assemble by the P.I at 0700 hours (LoL~berharap jelah) but these guyz didn’t show up till 0800 hours.

So in two buses, we took about an hour to reach the destination……at 0900 Dr. Shanker give out a short briefing on the activities for the day and assign tasks to all the students involved. At about 0945….the fun begins….. Here some pic of the day……

P/s: The visit was fun but the report part is not…..luckily I did only small2 things…so not much to report…and definitely….not much to draw in the report……hahahaha!! Lucky!!
